In Escape we would like to think about the refugee crisis together with participants and show you the problems from a completely new perspective.

the first meeting between the two teams

Thealter Festival, Hungary Szeged

We had the opportunity to perform with our Hungarian twin team. We were invited to the Thealter Festival in Szeged (Hungary).

The two groups met for the first time in Budapest. In the past we had worked on two pieces in two places at the same time, which were based on the same fundamentals but were nevertheless different. The work now consisted of bringing the two pieces together.

There were 6 performances and an audience discussion during the festival. The audience had the opportunity to choose in which language - Hungarian, German or English - they wanted to experience the performance.

Odyssey

In advance. It was a great, impressive experience and I think that the mere fact (“hurdle”) of being blindly guided by “strangers” for 1 ½ hours is not something that everyone can take lightly. The perception is completely different.

In advance. It was a great, impressive experience and I think that the mere fact (“hurdle”) of being blindly guided by “strangers” for 1 ½ hours is not something that everyone can take lightly. The perception is completely different. In addition, every step, every movement, every touch is uncertain and cautious. Everything that happens directly in front of you, next to you, behind you, is noticed by your ear or your body and you are shocked or it gets deep under your skin. It's about experiencing the topic of refugees on the run. In 10 minute intervals - it seems to me in retrospect - we experience, feel and hear all the stages of a fictitious community that is expelled from its home and flees towards Westland.
